Obinna Nwosu – Co-owner and CEO of Dsire Pet
Obinna Nwosu’s lifelong passion for dogs since his childhood led him to establish Dsire Kennel in 2015 in Zamani village, Abuja, Nigeria. Starting with just five dogs, he faced challenges like limited space and feeding costs, but his determination saw him through. Balancing his job with other businesses, Obinna invested in his kennel, ensuring his dogs received the best care. His commitment to quality, especially in dog presentation, set Dsire Kennel apart, influencing many in the industry.
Today, Dsire Kennel is recognized as one of the top kennels in West Africa. Obinna held the title of Director of Appraisal for the Boerboel Alliance of Nigeria and has been the President of the Boerboel Alliance of Nigeria since 2023. He has earned certifications as a Dog Trainer, Puppy Training Specialist, Scentwork Specialist, and Pet Photographer, alongside accolades like Best Kennel of the Year, Best of Breeds in Abuja, and establishing the first kennel lab for dogs in the region. Obinna’s long-term goals include creating an affordable dog food brand and sharing his expertise through educational content for breeders and dog owners.
Olisa Okafor – Co-owner and CVO of Dsire Pet
Olisa Okafor is a seasoned entrepreneur and CEO, leading a successful mattress manufacturing firm alongside his ventures in furniture and machinery. His journey as a pet lover began at the age of three, growing up in a family where dogs were cherished companions. Over the years, Olisa has owned over 100 pets, reflecting his deep connection with animals.
Beyond his business acumen, Olisa is passionate about educating others on business strategies, often sharing insights from his extensive experience. A lover of animal documentaries, he continues to nurture his passion for pets, currently caring for a Belgian Malinois. Olisa’s lifelong love for dogs and commitment to excellence in all his endeavors make him a key figure in the Dsire brand, dedicated to elevating pet care across Africa.
